Collection: Minerals & Trace Elements

Minerals cannot be produced by the body itself and must therefore be supplied regularly with food. Since minerals occur in different concentrations in the body, a distinction is made between bulk and trace elements.

All minerals whose content in the body is higher than 50 mg/kg body weight are defined as bulk elements. These include calcium, magnesium, chloride, potassium and sodium. 

Trace elements are literally only present in traces and are generally found below 50 mg/kg body weight by definition. They include zinc, selenium, molybdenum, manganese, copper, iodine, fluoride, chromium and iron.
