Why should you specifically support your immune system?
Our immune system has many functions. It protects the body from a wide variety of pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites, removes damaged or degenerated cells, regulates inflammatory processes, and is important for the healing of damaged tissue (and much more).
For all of these functions to function properly, the immune system requires a variety of different vital substances in sufficient quantities. A deficiency in these substances weakens our defenses.
Today, globalization and industrialization expose us to numerous environmental toxins and pathogens. In addition, many people live unnatural, stressful daily lives with various unhealthy habits, such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, and insufficient sleep. All of these factors have been proven to weaken the immune system and increase the body's need for vital nutrients.
At the same time, however, our diet is becoming increasingly nutrient-poor. To compensate for this deficit and provide the immune system and the rest of the body with adequate micronutrients, targeted dietary supplements are recommended.
Do you only need to strengthen your immune system in winter?
In winter, the immune system faces various challenges. These include the external cold alternating with the dry air from heating, which dries out mucous membranes and makes them more susceptible to infections, the increased incidence of colds, and darkness, which reduces vitamin D production.
Accordingly, it definitely makes sense to pay special attention to your immune system during the darker months of the year. But what about the rest of the year?
The harmful factors mentioned in the previous section exist throughout the year. Therefore, supporting the immune system is important year-round.
Furthermore, certain life circumstances, not just the season or general environmental pollution, also play an important role. For example, the immune system needs special support during stressful life phases such as a move or job change, during and after illness and injury, and generally in older people.
New product: Immun Power Up
Immun Power Up combines various plant substances, vitamins, and trace elements specifically formulated to strengthen the immune system. The dosage corresponds to current scientific findings and empirical values from holistic medical practice.
Our new development replaces the former Immune Complex and Green Tea Complex products. Immune Power Up is an improved formula with additional ingredients and adjusted dosages.
Vital substances for a strong immune system
Below we introduce the ingredients of Immun Power Up and explain how they support healthy immune function and protect the body from harmful influences.
Green tea extract
Green tea contains polyphenols and other valuable plant compounds. Among these polyphenols is the well-known EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which has been extensively researched.
Polyphenols are commonly known for their antioxidant properties and therefore protect our cells from free radicals. You can find detailed information about these plant substances in our blog "Polyphenols – for an extra portion of superfood."
Green tea extract contains approximately 98% polyphenols, including 50% EGCG. The extract is also rich in various minerals and trace elements.
Rhodiola rosea
Rhodiola rosea is one of the adaptogenic plants. These plants thrive in extreme climatic conditions. They are used in naturopathy to increase the body's resistance to stress and other strains and to restore balance to the organism.
Quercetin
The yellow plant pigment quercetin is also a polyphenol and is abundant in plants such as capers and lovage. Quercetin protects plants from oxidative stress and is also widely used in naturopathy.
Turmeric
Curcumin is an orange-yellow natural pigment and the main component of turmeric. Curcumin is believed to have a variety of properties, including antioxidant and immune-boosting effects.
Black pepper extract
Immun Power Up also contains black pepper extract with a piperine content of at least 95%. Piperine is a plant compound responsible for the pepper's pungency. In naturopathy, piperine is used, among other things, to support digestion and improve nutrient absorption. Studies show that piperine can increase the bioavailability of curcumin by 2,000 times (1).
Grape seed extract
Grape seed extract contains valuable secondary plant substances such as OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidins). Like EGCG and quercetin, OPC belongs to the large group of polyphenols. The natural function of OPC is to protect the plant from oxidative stress, environmental influences, and pathogens.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is known for its immune-boosting and antioxidant effects. It also promotes iron absorption, strengthens connective tissue, and contributes to normal energy metabolism.
Immun Power Up contains vitamin C from three different natural sources, ensuring optimal bioavailability.
Other ingredients
Immun Power Up also contains:
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin D3
- zinc
- selenium
- copper
These nutrients are important for healthy immune function and also have many other functions in the human body. The three trace elements zinc, selenium, and copper, as well as vitamin C, protect the body from oxidative stress.
How should you take Immun Power Up?
Immun Power Up can be taken at any time of day. It should be taken with meals and not on an empty stomach. As a maintenance dose for long-term use, we recommend 1 capsule per day. During periods of increased physical or emotional stress, the daily dose can be increased to up to 4 capsules. The dose of 8 capsules should not be exceeded, as each capsule contains 100 mg of EGCG, and the maximum recommended intake for this ingredient is 800 mg per day.
Who is Immun Power Up suitable for?
Immun Power Up is suitable for all adults who want to specifically support their immune system. However, due to the green tea extract it contains, the product is not suitable for children under 18 years of age, nor for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
