The intestinal bacteria (the so-called "intestinal microbiome") and their composition play a significant role in this. To support this highly complex system in the body, Gut-Brain Complex provides a combination of herbal ingredients and orthomolecular substances. Propionic acid is formed in the large intestine by bacteria and is an important source of energy for the intestinal epithelial cells. The amino acid l-glutamine and the vitamin-like choline are important for the formation of certain neurotransmitters. Lapacho contains numerous minerals and vitamins as well as secondary plant metabolites such as lapachol. Just like the secondary plant metabolites contained in cat's claw they possess antioxidant properties.
