Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is also called ubiquinone because it is ubiquitous, meaning it is present in every cell of the body. It is a vitamin-like substance and an important component of mitochondria, where it plays a key role in the body's energy production (ATP production). Therefore, tissues and organs that consume a lot of energy, such as the heart and skeletal muscles, are particularly rich in coenzyme Q10.

Coenzyme Q10 is produced by the body itself, but can also be absorbed through food. With increasing age, the body's own coenzyme Q10 synthesis decreases.

Coenzyme Q10 plus Alpha Lipoic Acid contains 50 mg of coenzyme Q10 and 50 mg of alpha lipoic acid as bioactive sodium R-lipoate per capsule. The sulfur-containing fatty acid alpha lipoic acid is also active as a coenzyme in the mitochondria. This product also contains resveratrol from Japanese knotweed, valuable oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC) from grape seed extract, and curcumin. Curcumin exhibits, among other antioxidant properties*.
