Orthomolecular drug complexes or individual substances?

Vital substances influence each other in their effects, whereby they can both promote and inhibit each other's effectiveness.

The use of a combination preparation that combines vitamins, minerals, and trace elements in the correct composition and dosage is therefore not only easier but, above all, significantly more effective than the use of several individual preparations. In contrast, the administration of individual substances can even cause an artificial deficiency of other vital substances due to their interactions. Even incomplete combination preparations are far inferior to correctly dosed complex nutrient preparations.

There is often a false impression regarding the range of effects of individual substances – namely, that each substance has a clearly defined function in the organism: for example, one substance supports the immune system, another the nerves, and a third promotes detoxification. However, this image is incorrect. The truth is that all orthomolecular vital substances have diverse functions in all areas of the entire organism and complement each other.

Take the trace element zinc, for example: Over 70 enzymes are now known that exert their effects in dependence on or in interaction with zinc. Thus, a large number of metabolic functions depend on zinc, including protein formation and the construction of new cell nuclei.

Furthermore, individual substances in the form contained in individual preparations do not occur naturally: They are artificially isolated or manufactured. They are, so to speak, an industrial experiment with a testing period of decades at most. The vital natural cellular nutrient combinations, on the other hand, have been thoroughly biologically tested over millions of years of evolution and have proven just as effective.

A natural multi-vitamin-mineral-antioxidant complex without preservatives or other artificial additives, balanced and with a dosage high enough to fully nourish and comprehensively protect cells and tissues, should therefore be the first choice. These orthomolecular nutrient complexes achieve the best results in terms of cell and tissue protection and regeneration, both for prevention and therapy.
