Folic acid

Also called vitamin B9 or folate (the natural form of folic acid). Plays a role in cell division and the breakdown of homocysteine. During pregnancy, there is an increased need for folic acid to prevent neural tube defects and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Folic acid contributes to:

  • to normal psychological function
  • to reduce tiredness and fatigue
