Lysine Complex

Lysine Complex is an amino acid preparation containing proline, N-acetylcysteine, cysteine, methionine, taurine and the central structural element lysine.

Biochemical function:

Lysine is a protein component essential for the human organism. A healthy human body stores more than one pound of Lysine, mainly as part of the connective tissue. The connective tissue forms a layer below the skin that separates, encloses and connects the organs, holds them in place and connects them to the bloodstream and the nerve tract. Lysine cannot be synthesised in the human organism, hence it must be supplemented through diet.

Connective tissue dissolution (connective tissue digestion) occurs

  • if e.g. a mature egg is released from the ovary (ovulation)
  • defence cells migrate through the body to their destination
  • the female breast tissue changes during pregnancy and lactation
  • in stressful situations

Lysine also plays a role in muscle protein synthesis, thus it has a beneficial effect in situations where connective tissue or muscles have to be rebuilt. Furthermore, lysine is needed to produce antibodies, hormones and enzymes.

Natural sources:

Particularly large amounts of lysine can be found in parmesan, tuna, pork and beef filet, wheat germs, soy beans, chicken and peanuts.

Benefits:

  • Development of muscle and connective tissue
  • Natural delay of undesired dissolution of connective tissue
  • Supports collagen production and thus healthy skin
  • Strengthens the immune system
